Here is a wallpaper for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. The process on this was super interesting. I didn't use any image generation AI at all because the Ethical issue with the data theft in that space has gotten worse as time has gone on. I am really putting my foot down about not using it. I thought that I was going to be sacrificing time by not using it but it turns out not using the AI was DRASTICALLY FASTER. Instead, I built out pieces in CG and then painted over them (my usual workflow).
I think it took ~1/3rd of the time to do that vs using AI images. That may seem counter intuitive but In my thorough experimentation over the last year I have come to the conclusion that prompt iteration and manual correction takes much longer than just creating the images from scratch.
Since Illustration is not my primary discipline I am much slower than the average professional illustrator. I make up for that by using CG. So I would expect that many of the brilliant illustrators out there could match my time or be faster.
My conclusion being that you will save time, garner a higher quality, more creative, customizable, and Impactful result if you hire an illustrator instead of using an AI image generator. You will also own the rights to the image. If none of those things are of any concern to you though I guess the AI image generation will work just fine for your needs.
